Description	:	Floyd Harvey Crews, 56, of Fortuna, died Thursday morning in a Eureka hospital following a period of failing health. He was born April 10, 1904, in Trinity County. He went to the Petaluma area in his youth where he resided for several years before returning to Trinity county. He was employed for 17 years as a patrolman for the U.S. Forest Service there. Read More	Floyd Harvey Crews, 56, of Fortuna, died Thursday morning in a Eureka hospital following a period of failing health. He was born April 10, 1904, in Trinity County. He went to the Petaluma area in his youth where he resided for several years before returning to Trinity county. He was employed for 17 years as a patrolman for the U.S. Forest Service there. About 1943 he came to Fortuna where he has been employed in the lumber industry. Until a year ago, he was employed the previous five years by the Fortuna Veneer company. He was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church of Fortuna. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olive J. Crews of Fortuna; daughter, Mrs. Barbara Glass and Mrs. Verna McKnight, both of Fortuna; Mrs. Dawna James of Porterville; sisters, Mrs. Harriet McCracken of Pasadena, Mrs. Peggy Strahle of Santa Rosa and Mrs. Midge Wigton of Fortuna; brothers, Vernon Crews, Archie Crews and Charles Crews, all of Trinity county; grandchildren, Judy and Johnny McKnight of Fortuna; Ronald and April Glass of Fortuna, and Morrision James of Porterville, and numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 16th and L streets, Fortuna, with the Rev. John Arnold officiating. Services are under the direction of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Medical Auxiliary Nurse's Scholarship Fund in care of Mrs. Fred Olson, 803 L Street, Fortuna.
