Description	:	WINTERVILLE - Mr. Floyd Earl McDaniel, 86, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his home. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 pm at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park. Read More	WINTERVILLE - Mr. Floyd Earl McDaniel, 86, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his home. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 pm at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park. Mr. McDaniel, son of the late William and Annie Speight McDaniel, was a native and lifelong resident of Pitt County. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. Upon returning from military service, Mr. McDaniel was taught the trade of brick masonry from his late brothers, John Lee McDaniel and William Henry McDaniel, Jr., and he continued to work in this field until he was almost 80. He was a longtime member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church where he attended Oakley Memorial Sunday School Class. Other than his work, one of Mr. McDaniel's favorite past times was playing golf when time allowed. He was a former member of Ayden Golf and Country Club. In addition, until recently, he really enjoyed his regular breakfast gatherings at Bojangles. Mr. McDaniel will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, great love of family and for his strong work ethic. A loving son, father, grandfather and brother, he will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents and his brothers, Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Shelby Stocks McDaniel in 2002 and sisters, Annie Mae McDaniel Vainright and Margaret McDaniel Spain. He is survived by: sons, Jeff McDaniel and wife, Maria, of Grimesland and Chris McDaniel and wife, Loretta, of Winterville; grandchildren, Lauren McDaniel Rawls and husband, Joel, Leslie, Layden, Cara & Calvin McDaniel; great-grandson, Maverick Stone Rawls; and sister, Lillian McDaniel Smith of Greenville. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 204 Brinkley Rd., Greenville, NC 27858.
