He is survived by his wife Grace Elizabeth (Cunningham) Furr of Albemarle,NC; Three Sons, Lewis Monroe Furr of Locust, N.C.; Melvin David Furr of Peachland, N.C.; Henry Lee Furr of Willow Springs, N.C.; Five Sisters, Rachael Liles of Concord, N.C.; Beatrice Barrow of Jackson, N.C.; Trullie Smith of Albemarle, N.C.; Hazel Little of Locust, N.C.; Jane Little of Albemarle, N.C.; Two Brothers, Leonard Furr of Locust, N.C.; Timothy Furr of Albemarle, N.C.; Four grandchildren He graduated from Ridgecrest School class of 1942. Mr. Furr worked for HP Efird and later for Kinlaw International as a mechanic. He was also employed by the City of Albemarle in the sign department. He was a volunteer fireman with Eastside Volunteer Fire Dept. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle, P. O. Box 7, Albemarle, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 29, 2009. Funeral service will be at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel at 11:00 AM Monday, March 30, 2009 , Elder Jimmy Gray Rev. Percy Cunningham officiating. Interment will be at Running Creek Primitive Bapt. Church Cemetery in Locust, N.C. Military honors graveside by Albemarle-Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. He served in the US Army. The family will meet at the home, 2012 E. Main St. Albemarle, NC.
