Description	:	Floyd Palmer, 80, of Corydon, passed at Corydon Nursing and Rehab on April 29, 2015. Floyd was born to Ross and Mary(Swen)Palmer on July 23, 1934 in Sewal, Iowa. He was the youngest of eight children: Floyd received his education from Sewal High School. He went on to work for the City of Corydon, doing maintenance. He married Eleanor Humes in 1960. Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and foraging for mushrooms. He also spent time gardening and reading. Floyd was a member of Russell El. Marshall American Legion Post #68-Corydon. Floyd is survived by his son, Scott(Sheila)Palmer of Mystic; two grandchildren, Erin Palmer of Mystic and Tony(Beverly)Harmon of Memphis, TN; sister, Ruby Starnes of Corydon; three brothers, Orville Palmer of Prescott, WI, Karl(Marilyn)Palmer of Corydon, and Harry Palmer of Des Moines; brother-in-law, Koran Brees of Corydon and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Floyd was preceded by his wife, Eleanor, parents, three sisters; Irene Lohr, Ila Mae Brees and Ruth Woollis; brother, Leo Palmer and step daughter Diane Harmon. Funeral service for Floyd will be held at 10:20 am on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Corydon Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Russell E. Marshall American Legion Post #68.
