Floyd R. Albrecht, age 82 of Fordyce, NE passed away early Tuesday, January 04, 2011, at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, January 7, 2011 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee, NE, with Rev. David Fulton officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with military graveside rites by the Crofton American Legion Post #128, Crofton, NE. Floyd R. Albrecht, age 82 of Fordyce, NE passed away early Tuesday, January 04, 2011, at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD. Floyd was born on July 17, 1928 to Theodore and Josephine (Tramp) Albrecht. He was raised and lived on the family farm all of his life near Menominee, NE. He attended Catholic school in Menominee. At age 21, he adventured to Alaska to experience the last frontier. He was drafted in the United States Army and spent two years in the Army Airborne. At age 23, he married Joyce Suing in St. Helena, NE. This union brought nine children over the next seventeen years. Floyd farmed all of his life and raised livestock. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and passed the love of the outdoors onto his children. For 25 years, Floyd owned several planes and he had his own hanger and runway on the family farm. He enjoyed giving family and friends plane rides around the area. Due to illness, Floyd retired from farming and flying. He enjoyed socializing with family and neighbors, playing cards and talking about old times.
Those who cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce of Fordyce, NE; his children: Constance Albrecht of Gila, NM; Geralyn (Charles) Warner of Albuquerque, NM and children, Charles and Autumn; Ted Albrecht of Pacific Junction, IA and children, Jesse, Dani, and Bobi; Jodi (Jim) Dinan of Omaha, NE and children, Rachel and Sophie; Chris Albrecht of Fordyce, NE and children, Amanda and Ryan; Marty (Starla) Albrecht of Columbus, NE and child, Floyd; Michele Albrecht of Lincoln, NE and child, Jake; Douglas Albrecht of Wasilla, AK and children; Logan and Amber; and Frank (Jody) Albrecht of Valparaiso, NE and children, Grant, Easton, and Mitchell; one great grandchild, Justin Guerrero and one sister, Joan (Gerald) Suing of St. Helena, NE and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vitus and Roman; six sisters: Rita Burbach, Velma Moen, Marie Bart, Sister Agnes Albrecht, Sister Clare Albrecht, and Sally Sanford, and one grandson, Jeremiah Albrecht. |
