Description	:	Floyd Tohm, 87, of Bottineau, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at a Bottineau nursing home. Floyd Tohm, a son of Herman and Rosa (Bullinger) Tohm, was born July 21, 1924, at Gardena. He was reared on the family farm near Gardena. He was baptized on Aug. 27, 1924, and confirmed on June 3, 1951, all at Zion Lutheran Church in Gardena. Floyd Tohm, a son of Herman and Rosa (Bullinger) Tohm, was born July 21, 1924, at Gardena. He was reared on the family farm near Gardena. He was baptized on Aug. 27, 1924, and confirmed on June 3, 1951, all at Zion Lutheran Church in Gardena. Floyd farmed with his father and, at a young age, took over the family farm. During that time, he held many part-time jobs. He worked at a small TV repair shop at night. There wasn't a TV he couldn't fix. He also worked part-time at Nero Funeral Home, but decided it was not the career for him. Floyd then went on to work for Reuben Ellingson at Bottineau Furniture, and from this a long friendship formed. Floyd and Reuben were the first to start installing cable TV in the area. In 1958, Floyd moved with his parents into a new home in Bottineau where he cared for his parents until their passing. Floyd retired from farming in 1977, leaving the farm in the capable hands of his godson, Dan Bullinger. Floyd became the manager of Radio Shack in 1978 where he continued to sell and repair electronics. Floyd married Deverne Froseth on March 24, 1996. They were huge supporters of the Bottineau Braves and Stars and rarely missed a home game. Floyd, Deverne and Floyd's sister, Laura, belonged to the Prime American Club, which is run by Floyd's younger sister, Violet, through Bremer Bank. Through this club, they took bus tours throughout the country visiting places such as Washington, D.C., Louisiana, Texas and their favorite, Branson, Mo. Floyd is survived by his wife, Deverne, of Bottineau; sister, Violet Germain, of Minot, stepdaughter, Evette (Bruce) Beirman, of Newburg; stepson, Dorvin Froseth, of Bismarck; and many nieces, nephews and great-stepchildren, who loved him dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sibling; sister, Laura Waters; stepdaughters, Charla Larsen and Mavis Hagen; brothers-in-law, Leland Waters and David Germain; and a niece, Virginia Brandt. Funeral: Saturday, at 4 p.m., in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Burial will be at Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.
