He served in the United States Air Force. Floyd was united in marriage to Phyllis Jane McCay on December 28, 1952 in Keswick, Iowa. He worked for Dusenburg Construction until retiring in 1991. They lived most of their life in the Montezuma area until Phyllis passed away and Floyd moved to Williamsburg to reside at Highland Ridge. Baethke was born April 19, 1929 near Victor, Iowa, the son of August and Bertha (Koehn) Baethke. He served in the United States Air Force. Floyd was united in marriage to Phyllis Jane McCay on December 28, 1952 in Keswick, Iowa. He worked for Dusenburg Construction until retiring in 1991. They lived most of their life in the Montezuma area until Phyllis passed away and Floyd moved to Williamsburg to reside at Highland Ridge. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with his family. Floyd passed away Monday, April 2, 2018, with his family by his side at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 88 years. He is survived by three sons: Mark (Liz) Baethke of Urbandale, Larry (Denise) Baethke of Montezuma and Greg (Dawnetta) Baethke of Nevada; a daughter-in-law: Karen Baethke of Montezuma; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and a brother: Tobe (Marilyn) Baethke of Sigourney. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Eugene Baethke, four children in infancy, two brothers Merlin and Maul Baethke and a sister Viola George. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the St. John Lutheran Church near Victor. Pastor Jan Horne will officiate. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Memorials are for Highland Ridge Care Center. Messages and tributes may be left
