She was baptized Mar. 25, 1898 at St. Johns Lutehran (Stone) Church and in March of 1913 was confirmed in the same church. She attended Febing rural school. On Feb. 18, 1920 she married Carl J. Behrends. to this union six children were born. After marriage they settled on a farm south of Johnson, NE. where she was to live most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, one daughter, four brothers and four sisters. Surviving are her four children, Alvin and Marlin , Delynn and Mrs. Joe Griggs. 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. also surviving are 2 brothers, Herman Gerdes and Leland(Pete) Gerdes. two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Oestmann and Mrs. Henry Bohlken. Funeral services were held Mar. 24 at Martin Luther Church near Johnson, Ne. and Burial was in the church cemetery.
