Description	:	Fonzo Lee Boyd, 80 of Mount Airy, N.C., died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at his home. He was born in Patrick County on March 31, 1927 to the late George Martin Boyd and Electra McMillian Boyd. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Melba McHone Boyd of the home; four daughters, Glenda White of Mount Airy, Janet Johnson of Cana, and Robin Ann Boyd and Penny Bowman, both of Mount Airy; two sons, Steve Boyd of Rhonda, N.C., and Tony Boyd of Winter Garden, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;... Read More	Fonzo Lee Boyd, 80 of Mount Airy, N.C., died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at his home. He was born in Patrick County on March 31, 1927 to the late George Martin Boyd and Electra McMillian Boyd. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Melba McHone Boyd of the home; four daughters, Glenda White of Mount Airy, Janet Johnson of Cana, and Robin Ann Boyd and Penny Bowman, both of Mount Airy; two sons, Steve Boyd of Rhonda, N.C., and Tony Boyd of Winter Garden, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Almedia McPeak and Georgia Haynes, both of Mount Airy; and one brother, G. Ervin Boyd of Mount Airy. Funeral services were held Friday at Moody Funeral Home chapel in Mount Airy, with the Revs. Jerry Perdue and Todd Byrd officiating. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care at 401 Technology Ln., Mount Airy, N.C. 27030 or to Grace Baptist Church at 209 London Ln., Mount Airy, N.C. 27030. Members of the family express a special thank you to Mary Bell, Penny Culler and Todd Byrd of Hospice and to Dr. Burciu, Rita Boyd and the staff of Blue Ridge Cardiology for the loving, compassionate care given to their loved one.
