Description	:	Mr. Forest A. Rennick was born October 7, 1892 at Nelson, Nebraska to Mr. Frank Rennick, a native of Canada, and Mary Mentith (Montooth) both of very old Scotshighlander stock. His education was completed in Nelson. He joined the United States Navy in World War I and served according to the best traditions of the service for 33 years. He was one of the few survivors of the cruiser USS Memphis sinking during the tidal wave off Santo Domingo in 1914. By trade, he was a plumber in which occupation his son and step son continue... Read More	Mr. Forest A. Rennick was born October 7, 1892 at Nelson, Nebraska to Mr. Frank Rennick, a native of Canada, and Mary Mentith (Montooth) both of very old Scotshighlander stock. His education was completed in Nelson. He joined the United States Navy in World War I and served according to the best traditions of the service for 33 years. He was one of the few survivors of the cruiser USS Memphis sinking during the tidal wave off Santo Domingo in 1914. By trade, he was a plumber in which occupation his son and step son continue to work in Riverside, California. His first wife, Anna La Von Henderson, whom he married in 1917, bore him a son, Mr. Forest M. Rennick of Hastings, Nebraska. After her death in March 1933 he remained a widower for several years. On August 28, 1939 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Dorothy Fridken Downs in Flagstaff, Arizona. To this union one son was born, Mr. Richard B. Rennick of the home address at 3740 Campbell (Glen Avon) Riverside, California. To cherish his memory and carry the torch of his witness for present and future generations, he leaves his widow and two sons already mentioned, two step-sons, Mr. Lloyd Downs of Riverside, California and Mr. Albert Downs of Roslyn Heights, New York, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Nellie Downs Selvage of Lincoln, Nebraska; two brothers, Mr. Jarville Rennick of Greenville, Mississippi and Mr. James Rennick of Denver, Colorado, other relatives, many friends and acquaintenance. Services were held Tuesday, October 27, at the Klawitter Funeral Home with Rev. Maurice Holt officiating. Burial was in the Nelson cemetery (sic). The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, October 29, 1964
