Description	:	Horry Herald May 10, 1928 On the 27th day of March, 1928, F. F. Vaught died at the home of his father, B. H. Vaught at Nixonville. For several years he had been one of the Magistrates of the county, and as such, had faithfully discharged the public trust. Mr. Vaught had been in ill health for several years, due to disease resulting from his service in the American Expeditionary Forces where he served from October 1917 till April 1919, in the famous 30th Division. Vaught at Nixonville. For several years he had been one of the Magistrates of the county, and as such, had faithfully discharged the public trust. Mr. Vaught had been in ill health for several years, due to disease resulting from his service in the American Expeditionary Forces where he served from October 1917 till April 1919, in the famous 30th Division. He left Horry County with the second draft. On the 15th October 1919, Mr. Vaught married Miss Beulah Watts, daughter of Everett Watts. By this marriage he had one child, a girl. The widow and child survived him. Ferney was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Vaught. Mr. Vaught was sent to Memphis and other government hospitals for treatment and the local doctors did all that could be done, but his malady baffled all available aid. He bore his suffering with great fortitude and never gave up hope until a few days before his death. He finally found that he could no longer resist the onslaught of the disease and reconciled his mind to this fate-and met it calmly and with Christian faith. Mr. Vaught's personal popularity was manifested by the fact that for the last six weeks of his illness the entire neighborhood visited him often and kept him company. They were ready and on hand to do anything that made for his comfort or well being. The family greatly appreciated these attentions which helped them to bear the bereavement. Dr. Scarborough attended him regularly and greatly endeared himself to the family by his solicitude for this patient. The death of Ferney Vaught is a great loss to the Nixonville neighborhood in that it has lost a sane and conscientious public officer and good citizen. No higher compliment can be paid to the dead than to say that he was a citizen simon pure. He was thirty six years old at the time of his death.
