Description	:	Forrest D. Christensen, 79, of Omaha died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Oakland to Fred A. and Louise J. (Hansen) Christensen. He attended Rural School District 52 throughout his elementary years and graduated from Oakland High School in 1943. In 1949, he graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Oakland to Fred A. and Louise J. (Hansen) Christensen. He attended Rural School District 52 throughout his elementary years and graduated from Oakland High School in 1943. In 1949, he graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He taught in the Genoa, Central City and Lincoln high schools for 5 1/2 years. He lived in Des Moines, Iowa, for 42 years. From 1955 through 1957, he took graduated studies form the University of Des Moines at Drake. In 1989 through 1992, he completed studies for graduate work and became a computer expert in the insurance business. He was the program director of system development at AmerUs Life Insurance Company of Des Moines and retired in 1989. In 1997, he returned to Oakland for several years before moving to Omaha. Survivors include: two brothers, Donald (and wife, Melva) Christensen of Oakland and Myron Christensen of Lincoln; and a sister, Elaine (Mrs. E.J.) Appleby of Scribner. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a sister-in-law. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland with the Rev. Ralph Ford officiating. Visitation will be from noon to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery.
