Funeral services for Mr. Breniman were held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 26, 1990, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn, Iowa. Rev. James B. Rea Jr., Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiated. Forrest E. Breniman, son of Ernest and Frances Breniman, was born on a farm southeast of Brooklyn on March 25, 13. He received his education in Warren #10 School and the Brooklyn high School graduating in 1932. He was a graduate of Reisch Auctioneer School of Mason City, Iowa. On June 26, 1938, he was united in marriage to Hazel Dolmage in the Presbyterian Church Parsonage, Brooklyn. Mr. Breniman farmed with his father and was a breeder of Purebred Angus Cattle. He was an auctioneer from 1960 to 1980. Mr. Breniman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn. He served for twenty years on the Board of Directors of Brookhaven Nursing Home. He was a 4-H Club leader and was an officer in the State 4-H Club. He had served as President of Poweshiek Angus Association. He was a member of the Tall Corn Angus Association and was a director of the State Angus Association. He was a former member of the Brooklyn Commercial Club in which he directed many of the Brooklyn Commercial Club Flea markets. He was a member of the 125th Anniversary Committee and had served as Grand Marshall during Brooklyn Days. He was a former member of Kiwanis and had served as a Justice of the Peace. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mildred. Surviving are his wife, hazel, two sons, Daryl (Patricia) of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Donald (Nora) of Ankeny, Iowa; one brother, Lester Breniman of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one sister, Ruth (Delmar) Adkins of Brooklyn, Iowa; and four granddaughters.
