Mothers trusted him to hold cash for their sons (so they didn't gamble or waste it away), earning him the nickname "Pop". When his son was born, he also called him "Pop". Later, of course, the was "Grandpop." Graduated from Bliss Electrical School. Worked in Georgetown's power company. Was part of the home guard that patrolled the beaches during WWII.
