Description	:	Forrest Ward Starlin, age 95, of Amesville, died Thursday June 25, 2015 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan. Born May 16, 1920 in New England (Rome Township), he was the son of the late Charles Frederick & Mary Pearl David Starlin. A graduate of Rome-Canaan High School, he retired from Ohio Department of Transportation, District 10 as a timekeeper and superintendent. Read More	Forrest Ward Starlin, age 95, of Amesville, died Thursday June 25, 2015 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan. Born May 16, 1920 in New England (Rome Township), he was the son of the late Charles Frederick & Mary Pearl David Starlin. A graduate of Rome-Canaan High School, he retired from Ohio Department of Transportation, District 10 as a timekeeper and superintendent. He operated a dairy farm for many years and served as a member of the school board of the Ames-Bern School District. He was a member of the Amesville Presbyterian Church, Farm Bureau and VFW Post 3477. He was a 4H Advisor for 20 years. Cpl. Starlin was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in Burma in the India-Burma Theatre. He was awarded two bronze service stars. Ward is survived by two sons and daughters in law- Richard & Carol Starlin of Amesville and Dave & Pam Starlin of Logan; five grandchildren- Rebecca Starlin, LeAnn Starlin, Kayla Starlin, Emily Starlin, Bethany Starlin, Scott (Meiko) Way and Brad Way; one great grandchild, Ian Keach Way; a brother, David Starlin of New England; a sister in law, Christine Starlin of New England; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Joan Marquis Starlin in 2006; a daughter, Rebecca Starlin; a brother, Carl Foster Starlin; a sister in law, Judith Starlin; a niece, Jackie Starlin. Graveside service will be conducted Monday 11:00 a.m. at Amesville Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 4-7 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens. Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by K.T. Crossen Post 21 American Legion, VFW Post 3477 and VFW Post 9893 Honor Guards at the cemetery.
