ALFORD DIES AT HER HOME NEAR FORT COLLINS Mrs. Frances A. Alford, wife of John E. Alford, died Saturday, February 2nd. The deceased is well known here. Frances A. Baker was born in North Dakota April 7, 1883; and when a small child moved with her parents to Colorado Springs. About 1901 the Baker family moved to Loveland. Miss Baker was married to John E. Alford March 4th, 1903, and resided for fourteen years on a farm near Fort Collins. Last spring Mr. and Mrs. Alford purchased a new ranch near Fort Collins where they were happily living when death claimed Mrs. Alford. The deceased is mourned by her husband, a little daughter, Clara May, aged eight years, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Baker who reside in Hillsborough, Colo., and a brother, Edward C. Baker of Redding, Pa. Funeral services will be held from the Baptist church in Fort Collins on Tuesday morning, February 5th, at eleven o'clock. There are many friends in Loveland who feel deeply the loss of a good friend and extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family. Loveland Daily Herald, February 4, 1918 ___________________________________________ MRS. JOHN E. ALFORD DIED ON SATURDAY On Saturday evening at 8:30 o'clock Mrs. John E. Alford died at the Mills hospital on North Loomis street following a very extended illness. For some time she had been suffering from liver and kidney troubles and this was followed by peritonitis which brought the end. She is survived by her parents who reside in Milliken, a husband and a daughter, aged 7. Not long ago Mr. Alford had purchased a ranch at Ault after disposing of one here and soon after Mrs. Alford showed signs of rapid decline. The funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Baptist church. The Weekly Courier, Friday, February 8, 1918
