November 24, 1909 - pg 1, col 4 Death of Mrs McDermott Mrs Frances McDermott, widow of the late Squire McDermott, died at her home on Ashfield St, Piedmont, November 20 about 10 o'clock a.m. She was one of the oldest residents of Piedmont being in the 91st year of her age. She was a lovely Christian lady, beloved by all who knew her, having been a consistent member of St. Peter's Catholic Church for many years. She is survived by nine children three sons and six daughters as follows: Dan of St Louis, Mo; Frank of Mt Savage, Md; John of Connellsville, Pa; Mrs Ella Stine of Westernport; Sister Victoria of St Vincent's Asylum of Albany, N.Y.; Mrs J. H Cramer of Piedmont Hill; Mrs Jennie Jenkins, Mrs Annie Hook and Mrs Isabelle Riggleman at home. The funeral took place this morning from St Peter's Catholic church in Westernport and was very largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. T. E. Gallagher.
