Mrs. Smith was born in Atlanta, Georgia, a daughter of the late Edward and Ida Bazar. Mrs. Smith's family was the first Catholic family in Conway, SC and was a member of the Catholic Church of St. James. She was an avid Bridge player. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a son, Charles A. Smith, daughter, Betty K. Smith, son in law, Dann Thompson, and a grandson Charles E. Sims. Surviving are: two sons, Marion "Elliott" Smith, Jr. (Lois) and Richard Francis Smith (Beth), all of Conway; three daughters, Priscilla S. Thompson and Ida Margaret Smith, both of Conway and Marcy E. Sims (Joe) of Powhatan, Virginia; 11 grandchildren, Danner Thompson, Deborah Thompson, Cammie Pope, Karen Brooks, Katherine Geris, Rick Smith, Andrew Smith, Seph Sims, Kellie S. Britt, Margaret Sims, and Matthew Sims; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Bazar of Florida; two sisters, Carol West of California and Billie Powell of Florida. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Catholic Church of St. James with Father `Rick LaBrecque officiating, with Rev. Tim Lijewski concelebrating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
