Eaves, at Flat River at six o'clock on last Sunday morning at the advanced age of 88 years, 1 month, and 7 days. Funeral services were conducted at Union Church at Knob Lick at two o'clock on Christmas Day by Rev. S.C. Headrick, pastor of Murphy-Long Memorial Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Charles Myers, pastor of the Knob Lick Assembly of God Church. Interment was in the Knob Lick I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Hood Service. Frances Cornelia Acuff was born near Knoxville, Tn., on November 16, 1857, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Long Acuff. She came with her parents and a number of neighbors to Missouri when 11 years of age and all located in Cook Settlement in St. Francois County. There she was united in marriage to William Curtis Wallace and for more than 50 years they enjoyed a happy companionship. On July 24, 1924, they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. On January 30, 1925, Mr. Wallace passed away. To their union nine children were born, three sons and six daughters. The sons preceded the mother in death; Charles, died in infancy, William Mason Wallace (b. March 15, 1874 d. July 17, 1928 of typhoid), and George Wallace (b. February 18, 1877 d. December 26, 1943 Married Clara Bayless). The daughters are; Lou Donna Wallace Eaves (married Albert Eaves), Nellie Mae Wallace Grady (married Milton Louis Grady, 1871-1942, son of James W. Grady and Amanda Allen Grady), Elizabeth Wallace Pratte (married E.F. Pratte), Mary Wallace Inman (married John V. Inman (1876-1942), Ida Myrtle Wallace Hood (married Robert Lonny Hood, 1885-1960, son of John Thomas Hood and Lucetta Hart), and Mrs. L.B. Moyer. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. One grandson, Byron Wallace, who was largely reared in his grandmother's home, is now in the service of our country at Begal, Brazil. Mrs. Wallace had resided in St. Francois County for over three-quarters of a century."
