Mrs. Powell was born the daughter of Callie Eugene Player and Bertie Lee Yarborough Player on December 12, 1946, in Georgetown. She was a graduate of Winyah High School and was a retired quality control inspector for Linq Industries in Summerville. Mrs. Powell committed her life to acts of selfless giving for her family and her church family, and "MeMe" gave an unconditional love to earn her the distinguished title - Beloved Mother.... Delaine and Jerry were married on November 23, 1996 and celebrated 15 years together. Their family was blessed with: five children, Rodney (Sandra) Zurcher, Sheila (John) Goss, Timothy Zurcher, Jessica Diane Taylor, and Jeremey B. Powell; seven grandchildren, Chelsie, Nicole, Derrick, Kelsie Jo, Logan, Chandler, Harley; one great grandson, Blake; two brothers, Charles (Susy) Player and Eugene (Tommie Ann) Player; one sister, Ginger (Keri) Kennedy; her extended family, Mr. and Mrs. WA (Edith) Powell, Carver and Jackie Black, Tommy and Elaine Langston, and Van and Ramona Moree, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by: her parents; her first husband, Donald Malcom Zurcher; one sister, Delores Cherry. A Home Going Celebration will be 3 PM, March 17, 2012, at the Earles Pentecostal Holiness Church with interment in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
