Description	:	Mrs. Frances E. Austin, widow of the late Mr. J. E. W. Austin, died at her home in Monroe at six o'clock last Tuesday afternoon, after a long illness and great suffering. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday morning by Rev. C. A. G. Thomas, assisted by Rev. Messrs. Ware and Atkinson. Mrs. Austin was a daughter of the late Mr. Patterson Houston and was born in Monroe on June 26, 1849. she was married to Mr. Austin on December 21, 1865. She leaves three sons and four daughters. Mrs. Austin was a daughter of the late Mr. Patterson Houston and was born in Monroe on June 26, 1849. she was married to Mr. Austin on December 21, 1865. She leaves three sons and four daughters. The sons are Messrs. E. H., F. H. and V. C. Austin, and the daughters are Mesdames G. M. Beasley and W. E. Cason and Misses Fannie and Bessie Austin. All the children live in Monroe. Messrs. Henry Houston, Charles Houston and John Houston are brothers, and Mrs. B. G. Coon of Terrell, Texas, is a sister of the deceased. The deceased was a member of the Baptist church. Her genuine christian character shown most beautifully in her home circle, where she was the very embodiment of love, sacrifice and unselfishness. Her Heart was large in charity, in sympathy, in love, not only for her own, but for all mankind. Whomsoever she saw suffering in body or in spirit, she suffered with and for them -- whether child, husband, brother, sister, neighbor, or stranger. There was no doubt about who her neighbor was -- it was whoever she knew needed anything that she could give. Her sole happiness was in the happiness of others.
