Read More	Fran passed away after a sudden illness in Redding, California on January 2, 2014, one day after her 88th birthday. She passed while in the embrace of all four of her children. Frances O'Neil was born Frances Elizabeth Lisk in the small town of Roy, Washington on January 1, 1926 to George Edward Lisk and Mary Elizabeth Gallagher Lisk. She was born in a house built by her father and delivered by a doctor that would become her uncle. Even though the house was within city limits, she would start school before they had electricity, and she started high school about the time they got an indoor bathroom. She is predeceased by her father George, her mother Mary, brother Phillip, brother Lloyd, grandson Donald, grandson Raymond and her loving husband Jack Edwin O'Neil. Fran leaves behind her children Karen Anderson, Peggy O'Neil, Jack (Hardrock) O'Neil, and Doug O'Neil as well as 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. Fran lived in Roy until she graduated from high school in the class of 1944. While there, she loved riding horses (and sometimes army mules) in and around Fort Lewis. She also loved attending the dances in Roy which is where she met her future husband's brother, Percy LeRoy O'Neil (AKA Pug) who was stationed at nearby Fort Lewis. In the fall of 1945, Percy introduced Fran to Jack, and in January 1946 they were wed in Jack's parent's house in Seattle, Washington. 11 months later their daughter Karen was born and parenthood began. After the war, Jack started his career in the tunnel construction industry. This career found Jack and Fran raising their young family in many locations in the western United States. While states, towns, and schools changed, luckily, many friends stayed the same as a tight group of "tunnel families" moved together to each new tunnel and town. In the early 1960s Jack and Fran found themselves in Redding, California, It was here that their oldest child started high school. It was there that they would remain in order to provide a stable home while their children cycled through high school. During this time, Fran diligently kept the home fires burning while also working at JCPenney. Jack took construction jobs close to home whenever possible, and as far away as was required to provide for the family. Fran remained in the Redding area until their youngest son graduated high school in the late 1970s, when she once again joined Jack wherever the next tunnel job took him. From 1987 until Jack's death in 2005, Jack and Fran resided in Arnold, California where they were active in the Moose Lodge, Vagabond's RV club, plenty of fishing holes, and wherever a pinochle or cribbage game could be found. In 2006, Fran returned to Redding where she remained active volunteering at the Redding Medical Center gift store and meeting with like-minded friends to quilt, knit, play cards, and enjoy life.
