She was born Nov. 8, 1918, in rural Morris County to Walter P. Scott and Mabel C. Clymer Scott. She lived her entire life in Morris County and attended elementary school at Kelso and graduated at age 16 from Council Grove High School in 1934. Read More	Frances Elizabeth Scott Wilson died Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Diversicare Health Care Center, Council Grove, at the age of 97. She was born Nov. 8, 1918, in rural Morris County to Walter P. Scott and Mabel C. Clymer Scott. She lived her entire life in Morris County and attended elementary school at Kelso and graduated at age 16 from Council Grove High School in 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2011. They celebrated 72 years of marriage. They were married Feb. 26, 1939, at the Christian Church Parsonage at Hartford. Frances accepted Christ as her Savior, and was baptized in Munker's Creek. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church for over 70 years and church pianist for over 46 years. She also served as president of the ladies' Bible Study and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was a homemaker all her life and had a special gift with homestyle cooking, gardening, and growing flowers. She fixed a bouquet of flowers for church regularly. She was a helpmate to her husband, working on the farm and helping with their Grade A dairy. Five children were born to the couple. The oldest son, Russell Scott Wilson, drowned in a farm pond on July 7, 1957. The four remaining children are Jerry L. Wilson and wife Jean of Alta Vista; Karen Andrews and husband Roy of Neosho Rapids; Howard Wilson and wife Joann of Manhattan; and Donald Wilson, Jr. and wife Sue of Phoenix, AZ; 12 grandchildren: Jolene Rupe, Julie Miller, Crystal Manes, Justin Moxley, Rhonda Womack, Paul Wilson, Greg Wilson, Jerilyn Shepard, Kelli Renner, Renita Alberto, Desiree Dizon, and Kristi Reed, and 30 great-grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents and siblings—Erma Lindgren, Clyde Scott, Willard Scott, Ralph Scott and LaVerne Troxell—as well as her son Russell and husband Donald. The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 1, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Zeiner Funeral Home, Council Grove. A private family burial service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery prior to the celebration service. This service for family and friends will be held Friday, Sept. 2, at 2 PM at the Council Grove Christian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Manhattan-Christian College, Manhattan, for the Russell Scott Wilson Scholarship Fund or Council Grove Christian Church for the Awana ministry and may be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 137 N.
