The Rev. P.M. Mattes will offer requiem mass. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carroll. Friends may view the body after 6:30 Saturday evening at the Sharp Funeral Home. Mrs. Ayers, the former Frances Hofbauer, was born Aug. 11, 1904, at Templeton. Iowa. Her parents, John and Grace Hofbauer, preceded her in death. She married Frank Ayers at St. Joseph's Church, Dedham, in 1934, with the Rev. Fr. Huelsherst officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Ayers lived in the vicinities of Dedham and Bayard. Recently, Mrs. Ayers had resided at Guthrie Canter. Surviving sisters and brothers are: Mrs, Harlan Smouse and Rudolph Hofbauer, Carroll; Jack Hofbauer, Audubon; Joe and Louis Hofbauer and Mrs. Leo Beyerink, Dedham; Henry Hofbauer, Des Moines; Edward Hofbauer, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Frank Kasperbauer, Glidden; Mrs. Hilda Balukoff, San Bernardino, Calif., and Mrs. Henry Volquartson, Omaha. Mrs. Ayers was a member of St. Francis Church, Maple River. She died at 8:10 Friday morning at the Guthrie Center Hospital after an illness of several months. Sept 25, 1956 - Carroll Daily Times - Final rites for Mrs. Frances Ayers, 52, of Guthrie Center, formerly of Maple River, were conducted at 9:30 Monday morning at St. Francis Church, Maple River. The Rev. P.M. Mattes offered requiem mass and also officiated at graveside rites in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carroll. Pallbearers were Delbert Kasperbauer, Ernest Beyerink, Donald Hofbauer, Dale Hofbauer, Robert Hofbauer and Dennis Lehrkamp. Among out-of-town relatives and friends at the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hofbauer, Rochester, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Van Scoy, Auburn; Mr. and Mrs. George Zitzlsperger, Mrs. Carl Mestersmith and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weitl, Coon Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. John Weitl, Dedham. Mrs. Ayers, the former Frances Hofbauer, died Friday morning at the Guthrie Center Hospital after an illness of several months.
