She graduated from Ponca High School and married Ronald Bottorff (of Ponca), shortly after. The couple were blessed with four children(Craig, Kathy, Paul, Ann) whom they raised in Santa Ana, CA. In 1996, she returned to her roots, moving back to Ponca. Jean was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church and had a deep, abiding faith in Christ. She had a strong sense of community and touched many with her kind heart. She will forever be remembered for her unique sense of humor and her ability to bring laughter and love to all who knew her. Frances J. "Jean" Bottorff, 80, of Ponca, NE passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Elms Health Care Center in Ponca, NE. Survivors include her children, Craig (Linda) Bottorff of Longview WA, Kathy (Tim) Bradley of Anaheim CA, Paul (Lucie) Bottorff of Orange, CA, Ann (Don) Carroll of Tehachapi, CA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (Bettie) Rockwell. Visitation will begin at 5 pm, with the family present at 6 pm, and a rosary at 7 pm on Friday, November 14, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the church, with Father Andrew Sohm officiating. Burial will be in the Ponca cemetery.
