After her parents' divorce, Dottie moved in with her mother and stepfather, Nick Rasheed. At the age of fifteen, following her mother's death, she went to live with her uncle and aunt, Ray and Vernita Eggert in Oelwein. Read More	~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Frances "Dottie" Jane Biermann was born on March 26, 1917, in Oelwein, Iowa to John and Lyla (Eggert) Peterson. After her parents' divorce, Dottie moved in with her mother and stepfather, Nick Rasheed. At the age of fifteen, following her mother's death, she went to live with her uncle and aunt, Ray and Vernita Eggert in Oelwein. After graduating from Oelwein High School Dottie worked for City Laundry in Oelwein. A short time later she began working for Ralph Sprague at the Oelwein Farm Cooperative. In 1940 she was united in marriage to Carl Johnson and the couple moved to West Union. To this union a daughter, Nancy, was born. During this time Dottie went to work as a secretary at Interstate Power. She was united in marriage in 1947 to Everett Biermann in West Union. A son, Brent, was born to this union. Frances' death occurred Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Lutheran Health Center, West Union, IA. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, PEO and Wednesday Art Club. In addition to being a homemaker Dottie sold Luzier Cosmetics, worked as a lumber yard secretary and started a nanny placement agency. Dottie is survived by her two children; Nancy (Tom) Kempf of Sebastian, FL., and Brent Biermann of Minneapolis, MN.; five grandchildren, Cameo, Nicole, Philip, Stephen and Anthony; and eight great grandchildren, Zayne, Banner, Jehu, Rozalyn, Noah, Parker, Liliana, and Mallorie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Biermann; parents, John and Lyla; her first husband, Carl Johnson; a stepfather; three sisters, Judy Peterson, Jeannie Ledbetter and Delores Wentworth; and two brothers, Bob Peterson and Ed Rasheed. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at United Methodist Church, West Union, IA., with Rev. Scott Keele Kober as officiant. Interment will follow at West Union Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Burnham - Wood Funeral Home, West Union, IA. The Burnham – Wood & S.K.
