Frances Jeannette Blood was born October 7, 1937, in St. Ignatius, Montana, the daughter of George and Emma (Schliep) Blood. She graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1955. She married Bernard Laverne Hayes in 1958 and were the parents of Keith Hayes. Frances and Bernard were later divorced. Her son Keith was raised by her parents, George and Emma Blood, who later adopted him and gave him the Blood surname. Frances moved to Kalispell in July 1980. She married David Kent Estes in 1982 and they were later divorced. Frances was very proud of her Native American heritage, enjoyed singing Native American songs and was a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and was a member of the Easthaven Baptist Church in Kalispell, she was baptized there in 1998. She enjoyed knitting, playing the guitar and harmonica, singing, dancing, Western movies, socializing and exercising at the senior center. Frances had many friends at the Friendship House and her friends will remember her as a very sensitive, kind and considerate person who was well liked by all who knew her. Surviving are one son, Keith Blood of St. Ignatius; one daughter, Judy Meier; two grandchildren; three sisters, Bernadine Anderson, Loretta Burland and Twilla Gould; and one brother, William Blood.
