Description	:	Frances M. “Fritz” Farr, age 82, of Clearwater, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 1990, at Ninnescah Manor in Clearwater. Mrs. Farr was born on Jan. 27, 1908, in Horace. She was the only child born to her parents, Ralph Herbert Rice and Mary Jones Rice. Mrs. Farr was born on Jan. 27, 1908, in Horace. She was the only child born to her parents, Ralph Herbert Rice and Mary Jones Rice. When she was six weeks old, her mother died, and she was taken care of by an aunt and uncle in LaJunta, Colo., until the age of four. At that time, her Grandmother Rice went to take care of her. She attended school in LaJunta, Ransom, and later, Brownell. As a teenager, Mrs. Farr went to Utica to live with an aunt and uncle, and was a 1927 graduate of Utica High School. She began teaching school near and in Utica following high school, and attended Fort Hays State University every summer. August 7, 1935, she was united in marriage to Clifford C. Farr in Liberty, Missouri. The Farr’s made their home on his family’s homestead near Ransom, and Mrs. Farr no longer taught school. In the late 1930’s or early 1940’s, they moved to a farm near Selkirk where they lived for many years. Mr. Farr preceded his wife in death in 1974, and following his death, she moved into Leoti where they had purchased a home a few years before. Mrs. Farr lived in Garden City from 1979 until 1982, when she moved to Cheney to be near a cousin. Her health gradually failed, and she became a resident of Ninnescah Manor in Clearwater in August of 1988. Mrs. Farr was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Leoti, and later in Scott City. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 15, at the United Methodist Church in Utica with Rev. Chad Anglemyer officiating. Interment was in the Ransom Cemetery. Mrs. Farr is survived by four cousins, Daisy Northcutt, Cheney, Virginia Jackson, Sun City, AZ; and Cheryl Distel and Beverly Beeson, both of Buhl, ID.
