Frances born January 25, 1919 in Torrington, Wyoming, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Neuwerk) Meyer. Frances was three weeks old when she moved with her family to a farm near Battle Creek, Nebraska. She was baptized on March 2, 1919 at St. John Lutheran Church and later confirmed on April 9, 1933 at St. Peters Heights Lutheran Church. Frances graduated from Battle Creek (NE.) Frances was three weeks old when she moved with her family to a farm near Battle Creek, Nebraska. She was baptized on March 2, 1919 at St. John Lutheran Church and later confirmed on April 9, 1933 at St. Peters Heights Lutheran Church. Frances graduated from Battle Creek (NE.) High School in 1937 and taught school for two years in School District No 57. September 3, 1939 Frances married George H. Zohner at St. Peters, Nebraska, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild holding various offices, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. Upon the merger of churches, she became a member of St. John Lutheran Church and served on the Evangelism Committee, took service tapes to the shut-ins, sang in the choir, and assisted with the Cradle Roll Program. She was also a member of the Kitchen Band for over 25 years entertaining at various nursing homes. She also enjoyed the Grandparent reading program at St. John Lutheran School. Frances worked janitorial jobs for Battle Creek Mutual/ Zimmerman Insurance and the Post Office. Frances is survived by: children and their spouses, Rodney (Arlene) Zohner of Battle Creek, Nebraska, Robert (Judy) Zohner of North Platte, Nebraska, Sharlyn (Rod) Porath of Lincoln, Nebraska and Suzanne (Robert) Buckendahl of Battle Creek, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Frances was preceded in death by: husband, George H. Zohner in 1989; brothers, Alvin, Edwin, Franklin and Milan Meyer and sister, Hazel. Frances was a great inspiration to many, demonstrating her love for the Lord, her servant heart, and leaving a legacy of faith to her family. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Battle Creek, Nebraska.
