She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Florence Meadows, widow of George Melvin Ransone and preceded in death by a son, Douglas M. Ransone and sister, Florence Meadows Taylor. Mrs. Ransone was a retired eligibility supervisor with the Lancaster County Department of Social Services. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Florence Meadows, widow of George Melvin Ransone and preceded in death by a son, Douglas M. Ransone and sister, Florence Meadows Taylor. Mrs. Ransone was a retired eligibility supervisor with the Lancaster County Department of Social Services. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Whitechapel Episcopal Church serving the church she loved in many capacities over the years. She served two terms on the Church Vestry, Vice President and President of the Episcopal Church Women, Chairman of the Educational Grants Program and Chairman of the Memorial Committee. Mrs. Ransone was a member of Blackstone College alumnae and member of the Cobb's Hall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are two sons, M. LeRoy "Pete" and wife, Donna Ransone of Irvington, Arthur M. "Artie" and wife, Julie Ransone of Lively, daughter-in-law, LaVerne Ransone of Mechanicsville; four granddaughters, Shannon Prince and husband, Mike, Mandy Faulkner and husband, Charles, Dara Ransone and Rachael Hardesty; four great grandchildren, Chas Faulkner, Lane Prince, Isaac Faulkner and Nathan Prince; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 7 at St. Mary's Whitechapel Episcopal Church, Lively. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Virginia, P. O. Box 2098, Tappahannock 22560 or Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 205, Lively 22507.
