Description	:	Frances Bradley, 98, Minot, ND, died June 18, 2003 in a Minot medical center. Frances was born to Nicholas and Emma (Helton) Mueller on October 26, 1904 near Calio, ND. She was the youngest of nine children. She grew up with great enthusiasm for learning in spite of many obstacles. The winters were long and cold and they trudged through the snow to school. Read More	Frances Bradley, 98, Minot, ND, died June 18, 2003 in a Minot medical center. Frances was born to Nicholas and Emma (Helton) Mueller on October 26, 1904 near Calio, ND. She was the youngest of nine children. She grew up with great enthusiasm for learning in spite of many obstacles. The winters were long and cold and they trudged through the snow to school. She was ambitious as she grew up and worked as a babysitter or helped clean the neighbor's house. She could be found cooking in cook cars during the harvest season. She always had some sort of a job. Frances's brother lived close to Lansford and he told her of a job opening there doing housekeeping and childcare. She moved, took the job and loved it. At the time $1.00 a day was good money. There she met Delmar, her husband-to-be. They dated for two years and were married on November 24, 1930 at the Catholic Church in Mohall. The 1930's were very discouraging but Frances and Delmar were both hard workers so they survived. Frances raised chickens, sold eggs and they delivered milk and cream. The gardens flourished (with their help) and she "put up" just about everything they needed to eat. Her food was delicious! After 40 years on the farm South of Lansford, Delmar suffered a heart attack and in the early 1970's they began making plans to move to Minot as both of their daughters lived here. They purchased the house on 8th street NW in the early 1970's and enjoyed the area and the neighbors for many years. Frances was Delmar's caregiver in his declining years. He died in 1994 and Frances was still living in her home now when she died. Frances was active in the Lansford Catholic Church and was involved in the Ladies Aide. When they moved to Minot, they joined Little Flower Catholic Church. Frances belonged to the ladies confraternity and helped in any way she could. She enjoyed crocheting, handwork and music. Frances was a very gentle woman, with love and concern for family, friends and the church. She was very alert to the very last. Her sense of humor kept her family going through thick and thin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar; parents, one great-grandson, Austin Anderson; and eight brothers and sisters, Margaret Thiel, Mary Schmidt, Gertrude Schwab, John, Mike, Hubert, Ralph and George Mueller.
