Kuykendall, 88, of the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville and formerly of Waverly, Iowa, died Sunday evening, February 27, 2011, at the Waverly Health Center of natural cause. Frances was born on December 27, 1922, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Olive (Bieglow) Hennessey. Frances attended the Osage School System, graduating in 1940 from the Osage High School. Kuykendall, 88, of the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville and formerly of Waverly, Iowa, died Sunday evening, February 27, 2011, at the Waverly Health Center of natural cause. Frances was born on December 27, 1922, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Olive (Bieglow) Hennessey. Frances attended the Osage School System, graduating in 1940 from the Osage High School. On January 5, 1942, she was united in marriage to Clarence E. (Kirkie) Kuykendall in Burlington, Iowa. The couple made their home in Iowa and Minnesota before moving to Waverly in 1947. In 1958, the couple started their own business, Kirkie's Implement in Waverly. The couple retired in 1976, and continued to make their home in Waverly. Clarence died on July 5, 1982, and Frances continued to live in her home until July 13, 2009, when she became a resident of the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville. Frances was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly. She is survived by her five children; Jean (Albert) Tlusty of Plainfield, Iowa, Vonnie (Brad) Boeckmann of Waverly, Iowa, Ann Ingman of Tucson, Arizona; David (Tempest) Kuykendall of Roland, Iowa, Phyllis (Greg) Steffen of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Clarence; her brother, Elmer Hennessey. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly, with Rev. Mike Tauke presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Waverly. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1st from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Waverly, where there will be a public scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family.
