Frances Mundhenke was born November 2, 1918, on a farm northwest of Milford, Nebraska to William and Lydia (Bender) Springer, the second of two children; and she met Milton in heaven on August 12, 2013 at her home at Legacy Terrace in Lincoln at the age of 94 years. She graduated with the class of 1936 from Milford High School. Earning her teaching certificate, Frances taught country school south of Milford. Frances was united in marriage to Milton Mundhenke on May 16, 1940. They were blessed with two boys: Clarke and Michael. Together they farmed where Frances was a loving farm wife, mother and grandmother. While raising her family she was actively involved with her church in Milford, the Nebraska Conference of the EUB Church, and was a delegate to the uniting General Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1968. She was a member of the O Town Homemakers. Frances loved playing the piano and organ for her church, Crestview activities, and up until her death playing occasionally for Sunday afternoon services at Legacy Terrace where she lived. She was very involved in the founding of the Milford Senior Center. She is survived by her children and spouses, Clarke and Sharon Mundhenke, Lincoln, Mike and Karen Mundhenke, Milford, three grandchildren and spouses, Camden and Sarepta Mundhenke, Lacey, WA, Dawn and Brad Stock, Omaha, and Matthew Mundhenke, Milford, eight great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Bea Springer and Enid Fulsang, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Milton in January of 1984, brother Wayne Springer, special friend, Claude Wolter, grandson, Mark Mundhenke.
