Description	:	OBITUARY Died -- Mrs. Francis V. Riggs, at her late home on Fourth street, June 14, 1900, aged 67 years and 8 days. The funeral services were held today from the M.E. Church at 1 o'clock p.m., and the remains laid to rest in Highland cemetery, Rev. W.F. Gilmore officiating. Francis V. Armstrong was born in Newtown, Hamilton county, Ohio, June 6, 1833; she died June 14, 1900, having passed her 67th birthday just 8 days. Armstrong was born in Newtown, Hamilton county, Ohio, June 6, 1833; she died June 14, 1900, having passed her 67th birthday just 8 days. At the age of 11 she moved with her parents to Boonville, Ind., residing here until 1855; then then moved to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and was married in the same year to A.S. Riggs of that place. Eight children were born to this union, six of whom, three sons and three daughters, survive her. In 1873, she with her husband, and children, moved to Mahaska county, near Eddyville, and in that neighborhood and in our city, she has lived ever since. When she was 18 years old she was converted and united with the Congregational church in Boonville, Ind. In 1879 she with her husband and three older children, united with the Methodist Episcopal church, there being no Congregational church where they were living.
