Gores, son of Louis and Stella (Walsh) Gores was born on August 27, 1930 in rural Bisbee, ND. He attended rural Bisbee School. Francis helped on the family farm before working at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home. On April 11, 1953, he married Donna Fritz, in Minot. They lived in Minot. In 1954 they moved to Crocus Township where he worked at a nearby sheep farm. In 1957 Francis worked for Simpson Well Drilling, Bisbee. In 1960 he started his own business, Gores Well Drilling. In 1970 they moved to Lisbon where he continued to operate his well drilling business. He also worked for Bell Farms. In 1978 he started Gores Salvage. He worked for Coal Gasification Plant and several gravel companies. He retired in 2000. He then worked part time at B and M Trucking, Gwinner Oil Co. and for Gary Hansen and Randy Huether. In 2004 he helped out at Bear Creek Construction. He is survived by his wife Donna Gores, Lisbon; one son, Francis, Jr., Lisbon; four daughters, Marilyn Stensby, Lisbon, Colleen (Robert) Boozer, Hibbing, MN, Cheryl (Todd) Gregor, Lisbon, Sandra (Lyle) McNenny, Aberdeen; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five brothers, James, Lester, and Warner all of Egeland, Bill (Margaret), Franklin, WI, Larry (Janice), Bisbee; two sisters, Edna Drewel, Belle, MO and Pearl Kruger, Egeland. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter and a sister Viola. Honorary pallbearers for the funeral were his grandchildren, great-grandchildren family and friends. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon. Music was provided by organist Cindy Hagel and soloist Amy Lyons. Interment at Bisbee Cemetery, Bisbee.
