Frannie was born Dec.15, 1922, at Eddyville to Frank and Vera (Neville) McTygue. He grew up in the Eddyville/Sumner area, graduating from Eddyville High School with the class of 1940. He entered the United States Army serving overseas during World War II. Frannie returned to the Eddyville area following his honorable discharge, where he worked various jobs until settling on his life career as a carpenter. He was united in marriage to Dolores Clouse on Dec. 29, 1958, at Eddyville. This union was blessed with two sons, Richard and Patrick. Always active in the community, Frannie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eddyville, where he was a member of Knights of Columbus. He was a past member of the Eddyville Village Board, the Elk's Club, VFW, American Legion, Sumner Board of Education and an EMT on the Sumner Rescue Unit. His hobbies included hunting, playing cards, dancing and he was an avid Nebraska and Notre Dame football fan. Frannie will always be remembered as a true gentleman and his caring commitment to his family. Personal story-- There was a story told about Frannie at the funeral. Frannie and his younger brother Bob went to sign up for World War II. Frannie intended to sign up for the Navy and Bob intended to sign up for the Army. Each decided they wanted to serve wtih the other. So Frannie signed up for the Army and Bob signed up for the Navy. Two days later when it they got ready to leave they found out that they were not going to be together after all. Bob said that he was going to miss Frannie, " I have looked up to him my whole life, he was my best friend."
