Barrett The following account of the death of Mrs. Fannie E. Barrett, formerly of this city but more recently of Chillicothe, is clipped from last week's Scioto Gazette: Death came to end the sufferings of Mrs. Fannie E. Barrett on Wednesday at one o'clock after two weeks of suffering. Early in the evening she fell into a peaceful slumber and from this she never awoke. Mrs. Barrett has been an invalid for some years and has been confined to her home on Church Street most of the time. The past two weeks, however, her disease, nephritis, assumed a more acute stage and with it congestion of the lungs set in. Her condition during the past week was quite serious, so much so that her sons, Starley of Columbus and Vernon of Barstow, California, were called home. The last of the week she improved some and remained so until Tuesday. Mrs. Barrett was born in Highland County February 14, 1848. She was married December 3, 1874. Four children were born to her, one of whom, Warren, died early in life; the other three, Starley of Columbus, Walter of this city and Vernon of Barstow, California, survive her. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a devout Christian woman. Short services were held at the residence on Church Street Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock.
