Campbell, retired farmer and prominent citizen passed away at his home in Mechancisville. Born at Richland Center, Wisconsin October 25, 1868, the son of Henry and Mariah Campbell, he came to this vicinity at the age of 21. He was married to Gertrude Ferguson in 1898 and they lived on a farm about four miles north of Mechanicsville. On the death of his wife in 1912, he retired to Mechanicsville. He was married to Miss Cora Esther Elliott at Chillicothe, Missouri in 1914. Survivors are his wife, two sons, Howard of Muscatine and Vinton of Davenport; one sister, Mrs. Will Gillingham of Necadah, Wisconsin; and two brothers, Fred of Richland Center and Alonzo of San Diego, California. He was a member of the Modern Woodsman lodge and the Presbyterian church. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Charles Tyrrell and the Rev. E. Winslow Brown of Cedar Rapids officating, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery.
