Read More	Francis Lee Nov. 28, 1912-Oct. 10, 2005 Francis (Red) Fay Lee was born November 28, 1912, the son of Frank B. and Euritha Jones Lee. He died Monday, October 10, 2005 at the Eventide Nursing Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-two. Red was born on a farm in the northwest corner of Charter Oak Township. He received his education in a rural school near his home and after completing his education he helped on the family farm. In January 1939, Red was married to Nell Diddy. The couple farmed near Castana, Ute and Charter Oak. On June 11, 1955, Red was united in marriage to Irene Kutschinski. The couple made their home on a farm near Charter Oak and were blessed with the birth of one son, Bruce. In 1984, they moved to Charter Oak and Red continued to be active in farming until 2003. Red and his family enjoyed participating in the Silver Spurs Saddle Club for many years. He enjoyed plowing and entering his work in the State Plowing Contests. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charter Oak, the Eastern Star, the Masons and the Crawford County Cattlemen's Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, John, Veryl, Darold, Elvin and his wife, Arlene and one sister, Norma Divito and her husband, Alex. Survivors include his wife, Irene of Charter Oak; one son, Bruce Lee and his wife, Cherri of Charter Oak; four grandchildren, Brandi and her fiance', Jason French of Charter Oak; Brooke and Justin French of Castana; Brady and Brittany at home in Charter Oak and three special great-grandsons; two sisters, Naomi Kahrs of Mapleton; Ruby Schaefer of Sioux City; one brother, Stuart Lee and his wife, Kathryn of Battle Creek; and three sister-in-law, Jane Lee of Odebolt, Vera Lee of Correctionville and Dorothy Lee of Sumner; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at the United Methodist Church in Charter Oak. Rev. Ken Baughman officiated the service and grave side rites held at the St. Clair Cemetery in Ute, Iowa. Joyce Hanson provided the organ accompaniment for soloist, Lowell Lee singing, "I Love To Tell the Story" and "Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me". Those serving as pallbearers were: Dwayne Lee, Don Johnson, Lowell Lee, Chester Lee, Loren Lee and Carl Lee. The family invited everyone to join them in fellowship and lunch at the Community Building, served by the Methodist Women.
