He was born July 17, 1930, in Kokomo, the son of Charles and Lillian (Korby) Jones. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1948 and attended the University of Notre Dame. He was born July 17, 1930, in Kokomo, the son of Charles and Lillian (Korby) Jones. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1948 and attended the University of Notre Dame. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. On Oct. 20, 1951, in Rochester, he married Marilyn Ann Taylor. She preceded him in death on Dec. 2, 2008. Mr. Jones was co-owner of Jones Implement Co. and Ad-Vance Magnetics Inc. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elks Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. Survivors include his sons, Charles and wife Pam Jones, Rochester, and Kevin Jones and companion Connie Ringle, Rochester; his daughters, Candace Jones, Rochester, and Christine Jones, Rochester; his grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband Scott Rentschler, Rochester, Aaron Jones, Rochester, Andrea and husband Scot Howdeshell, Rochester, Korby Jones, Rochester, Casey Porter Jones, Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Del., Jane Hooker, Rochester, and Jada Hooker, Rochester; great-grandchildren Tierney and Tori Rentschler, Rochester, and Mia and Emma Howdeshell, Rochester; his sister, Pamela and husband Jim Loebig, Rochester; his mother-in-law, Pauline Richhart, Rochester; and his brother-in-law, Terrance and wife Lesley Taylor, Roseville, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jonathan Howard Kamp. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Joseph Jacob officiating. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, Rochester, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Rochester American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County, United Ministries or to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
