A former Creighton boy, he was well known in this area for his baseball pitching. He played with the Norfolk baseball team in 1935-36, the Sioux Falls Canaries in 1936-37 and in the Texas League for Shreveport in 1938-39. Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Marcelline, Laura and Barbara; two sons, John and Leo; his mother, Mrs. Clara Wagner of Pueblo, Colo; three brothers, Charles A. of Pueblo, James of Chicago and Robert of Long Beach, Calif. and two sisters, Mrs. A.L. Emerson of Fort Bragg, N.C. and Sister Maristell of Chicago, Ill.
