Read More	Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, May 10, 1929 - Pg 1 Fannie May Cochran was born in Shelby County, Mo., May 27, 1860, where she grew to young womanhood during the time of the national reconstruction. On March 21, 1878, she was married to William Thomas and after eight years the lure of the west called them and putting their all into the wagon started with high hopes for a new home, Nuckolls County, Nebraska which became their home until death claimed her husband. At this time she took up the task of shepherding her eight little ones, giving both material and spiritual food. How she accomplished this no man knows, but she was one of the pioneers who meet things as they were and with the help of a Supreme Being did the best she could. When a girl of fifteen she was converted to the cause of Christ and united with the Baptist Church. Upon coming to Edgar she united with the Christian Church and remained a faithful follower of Christ until the end. During her last illness the songs of the church and her Christ were ever a solace in her suffering. Her husband, one son and two daughters have gone before in death. Five sons, Wade and Albert of Edgar, Nebr.; Samuel of Sheridan Wyoming; Ray of Clay Center, Nebr.; and Willis of Hemingford, Nebr., with one brother, Samuel Cochran of Kemps, Colo.; and two sisters Mrs. L. A. Reynolds of Staplehurst, Nebr.; and Mrs. M. F. Long of Nelson, Nebr., remain to mourn the going to a true mother and sister. Mrs. Thomas was indeed a pioneer for her father crossed the plains in 1849 and settled on them. In 1880 to be followed by this daughter. The memory of entering Nebraska on the old Brownsville ferry held a fascination for her and now she has gone pioneering again as she took the ferry to the unseen with a hearty greeting to her dear ones and friends assuring them if in her power she will sweeten a welcome when they shall come to the haven of love. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church, Wednesday afternoon by Rev F. J. Sanborn of Lebanon, Kansas, assisted by Rev J. J. Ruppert, pastor of the Christian Church and Rev Fred H.
