Description	:	UNION -- Francis Ralph Palmer, 81, of 315 Beltline Road died Jan. 3, 2000, in Mary Black Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Union, he was son of the late J.T. Palmer Sr. and Mary Vaughan Palmer. He was a member of Philippi Baptist Church, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Torrington Company. Read More	UNION -- Francis Ralph Palmer, 81, of 315 Beltline Road died Jan. 3, 2000, in Mary Black Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Union, he was son of the late J.T. Palmer Sr. and Mary Vaughan Palmer. He was a member of Philippi Baptist Church, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Torrington Company. Surviving are his wife, Doris Howell Palmer; two daughters, Freada Jackson of Union and Reada Joyce of Spartanburg; two sons, Eugene Palmer and Michael R. Palmer, both of Union; two sisters, Azilee Vaughan and Lillie Ruth Gibson, both of Union; a brother, J.T. Palmer Jr. of Union; and seven grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Philippi Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Tim Huckaby and Tommy McManus. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. The family is at the home of his daughter, Freada Jackson, 102 Park Drive, Union. Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church Building Fund, 327 Philippi Church Road, Union, 29379. S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home of Union is in charge of arrangements.
