He lost his mother at age 11, and acquired a stepmother, Anna Abel-Dodson, a year later. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic School K-12, Class of 1956. He moved to St. Charles, MO for his first job with McDonald Douglas. He moved his family to Tempe, Arizona to start his own frozen food distribution. In 1964, Fritz became a salesman for Economic Laboratories which relocated him to Tucson. He flourished in the desert. In 1982, he became his own boss again. He routinely returned with his family to North Platte for large Dodson reunions. He enjoyed family trips to the beaches of Rocky Point. His dream of going to Alaska came true, marking his furthest travels from home. Glenda Lindemann shared his life's trails for years after his divorce. In 1994, Fritz returned to North Platte , establishing the Rockin' DH RV Park. He spent the past six years caring for his sister Darlene Peters until her death in Oct. 2010. On March 1, 2011, he rejoined his parents, sister, brothers George"Bud", Joe, Bill, Tom, Jim, sisters-in- law Norma and Gloria, brother-in-law Glenn Peters, stepmother, stepbrothers George and Carl Abel, niece Kathryn Dodson, and in-laws Carl and Ann Jokerst.
