Description	:	F. Scott Gibson, a GiSH 1965 graduate, died Sunday, June 8,2014 in Grand Island, NE. Scott was born in Broken Bow, Custer County, NE as a blue baby. He took his first steps when he was 3 yrs old. DR's did not expect Scott to live a very long or productive life. At about age of 12 yrs, he was taken to UNMC, where he was the first juvenile in the state of NE to undergo open heart surgery. When he retired, it was from Old Town Boot Barn. In 2004, Scott was told that his heart could give out anytime. God knows the number of our days. These past 10 yrs have been a blessing for us, his siblings. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Harold SR. & Helen Gibson & 2 Great Nieces, Mercedes Lee & Cheyenne Lee. He is survived by his 5 sisters, Genny Perrel of ST. Libory, NE, Patricia Cooper, Linda J. Atkins, Joyce Gooder, & Merna Avila all of Grand Island, NE and 2 brothers, Mike Gibson of WY & Harold Gibson JR of Glenvil, NE. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Round Valley Cemetery in rural Custer County, NE next to his parents & maternal Grandparents. Since 2009, following the death of their Mother, Helen Gibson, these 8 siblings have gathered once a month to eat but to also & most importantly honoring the memory of the family ties that were so important to their parents. We love you Scott. We will miss the stories you have shared with us on our monthly dinners. We will miss you. Burial: Friday Jun 13 2014
