Description	:	Francis Star Jones was born in Graham to parents John Dudley and Myrtle Mae (Lawson) Jones. They moved to the Bilby Ranch when Francis was a small child and he grew up there and graduated from the Bilby School. As a child, he liked to help his Grandmother at the boarding house, where Bilby's single men were housed. When his father died, he helped his Mother and brothers run the share crop farm on the Bilby Ranch. Read More	Francis Star Jones was born in Graham to parents John Dudley and Myrtle Mae (Lawson) Jones. They moved to the Bilby Ranch when Francis was a small child and he grew up there and graduated from the Bilby School. In 1927 he married Frances Leota Robinette of Rea, Missouri and fathered three children, Forrest Leon, Billy Eugene and Joan. In 1934 this marriage ended and in 1938 he married Mary Edna Johnson. They lived in Skidmore and to this union were born five children, Nina Maxine, Floyd Richard, Francis Russell, Karen Ann, and James Allen. On April 7, 1973 his heart failed and 40 days later he passed away, never leaving the hospital. OBITUARY: Francis Star Jones, Skidmore, 67-year old retired custodian and bus driver for Nodaway-Holt RVII school system, died at 8:10 a.m. today, at the St. Francis Hospital, in Maryville, MO, where he had been a patient since April 7. Born August 19, 1907, at Graham, the son of the late John Dudley and Myrtle Lawson Jones. He was married at Oregon, MO, September 9, 1938, to Mary Edna Johnson, who survives of the home. He was a member of the Quitman Christian Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Forrest Leon and Russell Jones, Skidmore; Billy Jones, Downey, California; 1-Sgt. Richard Jones, Parmesens, Germany; A1C James A. Jones, Hooper, NE; three daughters, Mrs. Joan Taylor, Torrance, California, Mrs. Maxine Wilson, Pensacola, Florida, and Mrs. Karen Rowlett, Maitland, MO; two brothers, Ora and Oakley Jones, Skidmore; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Johnson and Mrs. Ferrol Johnson, Skidmore; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville and arrangements are pending."
