Frank graduated from Onaga High School in 1960, and worked for a local electrician, and then a contractor with whom Frank helped construct Onaga’s swimming pool. Born July 31, 1942 in Westmoreland, Kansas to Clifford and Marjorie (Ewing) Labbe, he grew up on a farm in the Neuchatel community. Frank graduated from Onaga High School in 1960, and worked for a local electrician, and then a contractor with whom Frank helped construct Onaga’s swimming pool. He liked to mention he was the first to try it out. Frank began his employment with Ernest Engineering, later Ernest-Spencer, Inc., in April 1963 when they were replacing the floor in the Onaga Co-op. He worked there for 47 years, leading crews constructing grain storage and feed lot facilities all over the country. After moving to Hudson, Kansas in 2007, Frank served on the city council and enjoyed eight years on the volunteer fire department. He became known as the local fix-it guy, appreciated for his ability to figure out anything. Frank was a builder, mechanic, and craftsman all his life, leaving many cherished artifacts of his creative abilities in the homes of his family and friends. Frank married Carol Sharlene Ridenour December 4, 1973 in Eakly, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. Frank is also survived by his four children: Marcia Labbe (Ed Tucker) Onaga, KS, Rodney Labbe (Alida) Haltom City, TX, Amber Labbe Murphy (Michael) Hudson, and Christian Labbe (Megan) Arcadia, OK, nine grandchildren, and a brother James F. Labbe, Onaga, KS. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Neuchatel Cemetery. Minnis Chapel, Stafford, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
