The daughter of the late Jesse and Sarah (Fletcher) Wilson, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Brotemarkle, July 22. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Twigg, Oldtown, and Mrs.Mae Mason, Ridgeley, W. Va.; four sons, Frank E. Brotemarkle, Jesse W. Brotemarkle, Wade S. Brotemarkle and Clinton G. Brotemarkle, all of here; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The body will remain at home. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m.... Monday, 5 February 1951; The Cumberland Evening Times ~Genie Posted June 10, 2011 BROTEMARKLE, Dr. Clinton Doctor Clinton Brotemarkle, aged about 60, formerly a practicing physician of Lonaconing and Cumberland, who moved to Salisbury, Md., 12 years ago, died early Friday in a Philadelphia hospital. He was born and reared in this county. When at Lonaconing he was an elder of the Presbyterian Church, filling a similar position during his residence at Salisbury. Dr. Brotemarkle practiced in Cumberland five years. He was for a period surgeon in charge of the Western Maryland Hospital. Dr. Brotemarkle married Miss Laura Somerville, sister of John Somerville, prominent businessmnan of Lonaconing, who survives, with four children, as follows: Rev. Robert Brotemarkle. pastor of a Presbvterian Church at Newark, N.J.; Clinton and Albert Brotemarkle at home, and Mrs. Isabelle Hitch, of Ohio. David W. Brotemarkle, who resides several miles from this city, is his only brother, and M. Courtney Gurley, 48 Columbia street, this city, is a nephew. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at Salisbury, with interment in Salisbury Cemetery. He was a young man of good habits and noble purposes and had a great many friends who mourn his untimely death. The funeral services held in Grace M E church, South, last Monday afternoon were largely attended. Rev M H Keen was the officiating minister. Born in Oakdale, Pa., he was a son of the late Andrew and Alla (Wilson) Brotemarkle. His wife, Mary (Robey) Brotemarkle, preceded him in death. He was a member of Livingstone Church of the Brethren. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alla Rode, city; three brothers, Jesse Brotemarkle, Wade and Clinton Brotemarkle, city; a sister, Mrs. Mae Mason, RD 1, Ridgeley, and a granddaughter. The body is at the Hafer Baliimore Avenue Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. A service will be conducted there Monday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev.
