Description	:	Frank Edward “Jim” Willis, 92 of Afton, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. He was born in Afton on January 29, 1924 son of the late Hugh “Edd” and Mary (Keith) Willis. Jim was a member of Rodes United Methodist Church in Afton. Read More	Frank Edward “Jim” Willis, 92 of Afton, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. He was born in Afton on January 29, 1924 son of the late Hugh “Edd” and Mary (Keith) Willis. Jim was a member of Rodes United Methodist Church in Afton. He was treasurer for 30 years and a choir member for 40 years. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years and worked at the Afton Service Center for 25 years. He served his country in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. Jim also umpired little league baseball in the Afton area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Brzozowski Willis and a brother, Clyde Oliver Willis. He is survived by his children, John Willis and wife Edna, Teresa Crisafulli and husband David, Paul Willis and wife Cathy, and Margaret Willis; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, Robert “Buddy” Willis and wife Ruby; an uncle, Billy Keith and wife Alice; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Rodes United Methodist Church with Reverend Lowell Petry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 340. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Memorial contributions may be made, in Jim’s memory, to the Rodes UMC Cemetery Fund, 286 Avon Road, Afton, VA 22920 or the Rockfish Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, 11100 Rockfish Valley Highway, Afton, VA 22920.
