Description	:	WARD, FRANK ELSWORTH — Frank Ellsworth Ward was born at Marengo, Ia., January 29, 1870. When a small boy he came to Belle Prairie township, Fillmore county, Nebraska, near what is now Strang, where he grew to manhood. March 15, 1899, he was united in marriage to Esther Jane Bumgardner. To this union were born three children, Iris, Merl and Paul. The latter departed this life at the early age of eight years. He lost his wife in January, 1908. Read More	WARD, FRANK ELSWORTH — Frank Ellsworth Ward was born at Marengo, Ia., January 29, 1870. When a small boy he came to Belle Prairie township, Fillmore county, Nebraska, near what is now Strang, where he grew to manhood. March 15, 1899, he was united in marriage to Esther Jane Bumgardner. To this union were born three children, Iris, Merl and Paul. The latter departed this life at the early age of eight years. He lost his wife in January, 1908. For over two year he remained a widower, taking care of his motherless children the best he could. In 1909 he moved to a farm near Geneva, Neb. October 8, 1910, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Anna Moore of Hartford, Kas. The family lived hear Geneva until 1921, when they purchased a home near Waverly, Kas., and moved there. March 11, 1942, death again entered his home and took his second wife. Although he was very sad and lonely, he chose to stay on the farm. In May he was hurt by a team. His son-in-law, Fred Molthan of Friend, Neb., cared for him until he was able to have a sale. He went June 15, to make his home with his daughter Mrs. Molthan. He was there a little over a week when he became ill. He departed this life July 15, 1942, at the age of 72 years, 5 months, and 6 days. He leaves to mourn his death one daughter, Mrs. Fred Molthan of Friend, one son, Merl of Ten Sleep, Wyo. A step-daughter, Mrs. J. D. Davis of Marietta, Okla., a step-son, Will Lawlor of Marlow, Ok., two half-brothers, Bert Evens of Omaha, and Roy Evans of Reynolds, four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Moore Funeral home in Friend Sunday afternoon, July 19, Rev. E. L. Pengelly of Friend Methodist church officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
